When the Berrima boys checked it had a damaged No 1 injector, one incorrect nozzle and the injector crack pressures were set to Toyota settings of around 160 bar instead of 110 bar. In fact, my Patrol was previously "set-up" by the now defunct Binskins in Port Macquarie. I am sure the guys at Berrima do know what they are doing, which as you pointed out is very important. I have enough confidence in Rheinhard and Andrew, after having my TDi 4.2 Patrol given the once over by them, to have booked my son's 3.0 litre TDi Rodeo in for a diesel service and fitment of a DPChip.
The units, tailored to specific models, are assembled and calibrated here in Australia. Not too much made in Germany is of inferior quality so that should not be a problem. The electronic circuitry for the DPChip is manufactured in Germany. I borrowed these pics from another forum. You’re then able to change fuel timing and duration as well as a few other things on the fly and send the changes to the DP Chip. Then you should be able to get the existing fuel map information with the engine running and the chip connected. You only need a USB cable to connect your Series 3 DP Chip to your PC and set up the port configuration. That’s why I posted this thread, but it seems that not many have played around with the software on a Patrol. I’ve done heaps of research on this and have even ordered a DP Chip for myself to replace the Dtronic, but I haven’t been able to find much in the way of advice on how to use the software or correct tuning methods, so I’m not sure what the Kuberl Tuning software can do in the way of additional performance or fuel timing alterations.
